TBWA\ stands for Tragos, Bonnange, Wiesendanger and Ajroldi after the founding partners.
TBWA\ was founded in Paris in 1970 with the London office opening its doors in 1973. Today we are part of a global network of 237 offices around the world whose global clients include Nissan, adidas, Apple, PlayStation and many more of the world’s best-loved brands.
We count 29 clients and 38 brands among our portfolio in London, where this hive of activity is housed in a former tax office at the wrong end of Whitfield Street. An unlikely place to be a hothouse of creativity and growth.
But AdWeek and AdAge begged to differ, giving us ‘Global Agency of the Year 2008’, and Fast Company Magazine in Feb 2009 made us one of the top 50 most innovative companies in the world. We’re number 24, not bad when you consider that the people who pioneered wind farms only managed 36th!
The picture (right) is a bit cheeky, but Saatchi’s really shouldn’t have put up that scaffolding without expecting something to happen…
